One of the most exciting and important events on the school calendar is The Prize Giving Assembly, a special occasion where learners, teachers, and parents come together to celebrate the academic, cultural, and sporting achievements of the school community. More than just handing out certificates and trophies, the event encourages students to continue striving for success and reminds all learners of the value of hard work and dedication.
This year’s Prize Giving Assembly were held at 07:30 on 5 different days;
- Grade 1 and 2 - Friday 28 November 2025
- Grade R - Monday 01 December 2025
- Grade 3 - Tuesday 02 December 2025
- Grade 7 (Valedictory Assembly) - Friday 03 December 2025
- Grade 4, 5 and 6 - Thursday 04 December 2025
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the Principal – Mr Kruger, followed by an inspirational speech that highlighted the school’s accomplishments throughout the year, as well as the effort and commitment shown by both learners and staff. Parents were invited to motivate learners and acknowledge the progress their children have made.
Awards were presented to outstanding learners in various categories, academic prizes recognise excellence in subjects such as Mathematics, English, and Science, while special awards honour leadership and good behaviour. Sports trophies celebrate skill and teamwork, and cultural awards highlight creativity in areas like music, drama, and art. These achievements show that success comes in many different forms and that every learner has a unique talent worth recognising.
Parents and guardians proudly watch as their children walk onto the stage, often greeted with applause and cheers from fellow learners. This moment strengthens the bond between families and the school, showing that education is a shared effort. Teachers also feel a sense of pride seeing their students grow and reach their goals.
The Assembly reminded learners that success comes from persistence, determination, and believing in yourself. It is a celebration of achievement and a motivation for every learner to continue working hard and making their school proud. Risidale Primary is very proud of all the learners who have put the best foot forward this year!
