Celebrating Excellence in Sports, Chess, and Our Valedictory

Highlights from a Year of Dedication and Teamwork

At Risidale Primary, our learners continue to shine both in academics and extracurricular activities. From the strategic moves of our chess players to the determination of our swimmers, and culminating in the heartfelt Grade 7 Valedictory Assembly, this year has been full of accomplishments, growth, and memories to cherish.

Chess

Risidale chess has made enormous progress this year, with children from Grade 1 to Grade 7 participating. We were able to enter three full teams into the league and held our own against the schools we competed against —both government and private! The Senior Boys Chess team — Grades 6 and 7 — were unbeaten this year — congratulations! Well done to Rodwell Makota for receiving his colours for chess.

Swimming

The Risidale Swimming team is an enthusiastic and determined group of young athletes. Our swimmers give their best and willingly assist when team members are unavailable to swim. This year was no different. The team gave their best at every gala, never failing to impress with their support, manners, and good sportsmanship.

Special mention goes to the Captains—Jordan Swartz, Silva October, and Trinity Bloem—who wisely led the team, encouraging and guiding the younger swimmers with expertise. Well done to Jordan Swartz for his outstanding season and incredible leadership. Jordan Swartz and Silva October received their colours for swimming, and Jordan was, for the third year, Risidale’s Swimmer of the Year. Well done, young man—thank you for your excellence in all areas!

Valedictory

The Grade 7 Valedictory Assembly was a heartfelt and memorable event, marking the end of an important chapter for our senior primary learners. Held in the school hall, the assembly brought together students, teachers, parents, and special guests to celebrate the achievements, growth, and friendships formed over the years.

Head learners delivered valedictory speeches, sharing memories from their first days at school to their final year. They spoke about the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the support received from teachers and families. The speeches were filled with gratitude, humour, and hope for the future, inspiring both their peers and the audience. The guest speaker offered words of encouragement, reminding students to embrace new challenges and to carry forward the values and skills they have developed.

Outstanding achievements in academics were recognised, and special awards were presented to learners who excelled in various areas, leaving everyone inspired and proud of the Class of 2025.

This year at Risidale Primary has been a testament to the dedication, talent, and spirit of our learners and staff. From sporting triumphs to academic milestones and memorable celebrations, each achievement reflects the hard work, teamwork, and perseverance that define our school community.

We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence in the years to come. awards were presented to learners who excelled in various fields, and certificates were handed out to all Grade 7 learners to commemorate their completion of primary school. Teachers and staff were also thanked for their dedication and guidance throughout the students’ journey.
